5. Fingerprint record: The applicant must provide their fingerprints for the first application (valid for 59 months). If the fingerprints were recorded before and are still valid, the application is exempt from this requirement.

Fill out the VIDEX form on the website of the German Embassy or Consulate in China, print it out, and sign the application form in your own handwriting.

Step 2: Prepare materials
1. Basic materials: original passport and photocopy, and a white background passport photo (35x45mm, without glasses).
2. Supporting documents: round-trip flight booking confirmation, hotel booking confirmation, detailed itinerary in English, and Schengen insurance covering the entire trip.
3. Proof of financial resources: Bank statements under your name for the past 3-6 months, with a balance of 30,000-50,000 RMB or more recommended (avoid large deposits made temporarily; daily transaction records are required).
4. Proof of employment/enrollment:
• For employed individuals: A leave approval letter from their employer in both Chinese and English (including job title, salary, leave duration, and who will bear the costs). Note: It must be on company letterhead, stamped with the company seal, and signed by the responsible person.
